Blending this with frequent commercial training by our Global Account Directors ensures you will be primed to provide informed input when placed on a project alongside our experts.
We believe that successful consultants are shaped through participation and senior oversight from an early stage.
After a month’s intensive training on risk, regulatory and general finance topics, our consultants will be engaged within one of our Strategy, Advisory or Consulting practices. Here you will experience the intricacies of complex change programmes, develop your network and leverage your training and entrepreneurial drive to positively impact the target solution. Through rotations along our practices, clients and service offerings over two years, we aim to develop you into a consultant wearing the Parker Fitzgerald brand; confidently engaging stakeholders of all levels. Development continues even after the first two-year programme is completed, with regular training sessions run by the firm's specialists with continued support provided through a mentoring scheme.
Eligible candidates must showcase an intellectual curiosity, exceptional academic records and a strong communication skills, to become a future leader within our firm.
Candidates must have at least a 2:1 degree from a UK Russell Group University or an international equivalent. Demonstration of leadership and collaborative characteristics, evidenced project delivery and a range of extra-curricular activities, all in parallel with a genuine interest in financial services are a prerequisite for any of our positions.We want to challenge you and to ensure you develop at an appropriate pace; therefore demonstrate any testing conditions and your solution to them in your application.
Risk Academy 2016/17

Our Risk Academy will fast track your career development by exposing you to an intensive technical and professional training programme combined with challenging client and research assignments.
The two year programme, in a young and dynamic firm, will provide you with the contacts, knowledge and skills to become part of the next generation of risk consultants and set you on the best path for a career in risk management.

The programme is run from our London office where you will receive rigorous in-house and external training.  In addition you will gain valuable Practical experience working, under the direction and guidance of a Partner or Director, on challenging client assignments that deliver business-critical programmes.

As part of our tailored continued professional development programme you will:
  • Learn the fundamentals of risk management, regulation and project management through an initial 1 month intensive training programme.
  • Undertake an initial 2 months on assignment combined with further in house technical skills training.
  • Develop a wide range of essential industry knowledge, technical and personal skills.
  • Progress as a professional risk consultant, representing Parker Fitzgerald on client projects in top Investment and Retail Banks, Asset Managers and Insurers.

Desired Skills and Experience

High academic achievement is a necessity for success in the Risk Academy, as both the initial training and a career at Parker Fitzgerald will be challenging and stimulating.
Minimum grade: 2:1 - We welcome graduates with a diverse background in a variety of areas, as the first stages of the programme encompass a wide range of topics within Risk and Regulation, with options to specialise in an area of interest going forward.
As a consultant you are expected to work under challenging circumstances, to tight deadlines and in variable conditions. The Risk Academy will give you the fundamental skills to deal with these pressures, however we expect you to have a tenacious attitude and be prepared for hard work.
